Chapter 9 -- The Police-y Staff [Edited!]
I didn’t know which would be the best place for me to relocate to, while Shayla and Murderface were still on the loose. Who knows, the rest of my friends were probably in danger too, they lived all around the world, so I couldn’t help them, but there was one friend who was reasonably close. This friend was May, she lived in the same city, so it was just the matter of using the phonebook. I dialled the number and waited for a response. A loud screech flowed through the phone into my ear. It sounded abnormal, like a Pokemon, but they didn’t exist as far as I knew, so I wasn’t as scared as I should have been. May didn’t reply but somebody else did. "So Nica, one more friend down, the rest to go, it’s a race, a race to save yourself and your friends lives… bye" The phone started to beep and I knew that May’s life had been taken because I wasn’t prepared to stop Murderface and Shayla. The positive of this was that Marz had left Murderface and actually got somewhere, he got to be a clown at kids parties, but nobody cares about him anymore… I fell asleep once more and began to picture how Shayla and Murderface actually looked IRL. "Do you think they’ll ever know? I mean, that we are really the ones trying to protect them… from God. Because, Nica’s catching on quickly and I’m afraid that Rene, that guy who’s collecting our information for us might actually be well caught and reveal everything. Oh, wait, we don’t need to worry about that, I forgot, if Rene did reveal what we’re doing, God would surely kill him and send him to heaven. Ugh, that would suck for him… all these people that are trying to do good for the world… Do you think we’ll ever be um... good?" "Oh Shayla, you have no need to worry, Rene’s working for the police, remember?" "Um… last time I checked. WE WERE THE POLICE. I don’t know whether we can keep hiding their bodies though, they’re bound to reawaken and start screaming out the facts, and plus, well… I kind of like Marz." "YOU LIKE HIM?" "Um yeah, anything wrong?" "Oh nothing, aside from the fact we were meant to be together forever… as friends... Shayla, this is just the lack of oxygen talking, you mustn’t… ugh, that’s it, I’m going to do something I’ll eventually regret doing, but, I’m going to hand myself into the police, and Marz too, you’ll be without either of us. You’ll have to make the decision of what is right and what’s wrong by yourself". I woke up and couldn’t wipe the smile off my face, the prime suspect, not actually proven, would have to deal with the whole of PC by herself.
